National Chili Day in February celebrates an American winter favor - Masala Chai Chili. This day highlights celebration, community, and culinary exploration, bring people together to enjoy a dish deeply rooted in American cuisine.

Masala Chai Chilli Ingredients:
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 onion diced
- 1 jalapeño seeded and finely diced
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 ½ tbsp chili powder divided, or to taste
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 green bell pepper seeded and diced
- 14oz crushed tomatoes
- 14oz diced tomatoes with juices
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 19oz canned red kidney beans drained and rinsed
- 1 ½ cups beef broth
- 1 cup beer
- 1 cup brewed Masala Chai tea (steeped from 2 tbsp spice for 1 min)
- 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
Combine ground beef and 1 ½ tbsp of chili power. In a large pot, brown ground beef, onion, jalapeño and garlic. Drain any fat. Add in Masala Chai tea and remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered 45-60 mins or until chili has reached desired thickness. Top with cheddar cheese, green onion, cilantro or your favorite toppings.
