Tencha is raw tea leaves before they are ground into the powder form as "Matcha". They are made from green tea plants, Camellia Sinensis, the same plant used to make the other green teas, such as Sencha and Gun Powder. Unlike other green tea leaves that are grown in full sun, Tencha is grown in shade. It acts as a strong blood detoxifier and alkalizer.
